The Ruthven Apple Festival is back! 

Preparation is now underway for the 44th Annual Ruthven Apple Festival at Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens in Ruthven on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2023.

On behalf of Community Living Essex County and the Ruthven Apple Festival Steering Committee, thank you for your support!  With your help, we are able to provide the highest level of support for people of all ages who have an intellectual disability and their families in Essex County.

Vendor Hours:

  • Saturday, September 30: 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.  
  • Sunday, October 1: 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.   

NOTE: This is a two-day outdoor event [RAIN OR SHINE] and you must pay for and stay for the full two days. 

 Food Booth Fees: 

  • $700.00- this includes water hook up and (1) hydro 15 amp plug  
  • $750.00- this includes water hook up and (1) hydro 30 amp plug

Application Deadline: Your application must be submitted by July 28, 2023 for review by the Ruthven Apple Fest Steering Committee.  Payment options will be provided following approval.  Applications received past the due date will be subject to a 25% increase in booth fees.

Cancellation Policy:  Booth fees will NOT be refunded for cancellations or no-shows.  Your payment will be considered a donation and a charitable tax receipt will be issued. This policy also applies to the cancellation of the Ruthven Apple Festival due to reasons beyond the control of the Ruthven Apple Festival Steering Committee.

Additional Considerations:

  • We do not supply tents, tables or chairs, only the ground space.
  • As per Colasanti's policy, service animals are welcome, pets are not permitted.
  • All applications will be reviewed for approval and a confirmation notice will be issued before the second week of September. 
  • Vendors are not allowed to stay/sleep overnight on festival grounds.

FOOD BOOTH SET UP: Food vendors will be contacted to set up on either Wednesday, September 27 or Thursday, September 28. Food vendors WILL NOT be permitted to set up on Friday or Saturday. Please let us know if you have a preference of either dates below, we will attempt to accommodate your request:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: 

A certificate of Insurance or a copy of a Commercial General Liability policy must be included with your application.  This can be obtained by contacting your insurance broker and can be a separate policy or an extension of your personal homeowner’s policy.  

Documentation should include:

  •  your name (or that of your business)
  •  the insurance company and policy number
  • the coverage period for the policy
  • extension of coverage for the Ruthven Apple Festival should be noted 
  •  the amount of coverage provided - We require no less than $1,000,000 of coverage.

Release of Liability:

“In consideration of the foregoing, I, for myself, my executors, administrators and assigns, do hereby release and forever discharge the Ruthven Apple Festival and committee, volunteers, other sponsors and organizers for all claims of damage, action and causes of action whatsoever, in any manner arising out of or related to my participation in the Ruthven Apple Festival.  All vendors are responsible to have approved electrical equipment and electrical equipment must bare one of the approval markings.  All vendors are responsible to follow Health Unit requirements.  I further, hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use any photograph, videotape, film, motion picture or record of my participation.”
